Luke 5:33-6:11

Jesus frequently challenged religious leaders who prioritized rules over people, showing us a different way to live, rest, and relate to others. Through parables about new wine and old wineskins, He illustrated that He was bringing a New Covenant focused on grace through repentance, not rigid law-keeping. As Lord of the Sabbath, Jesus restored its true purpose of benefiting humanity rather than burdening it. His healing of a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath demonstrated that compassionate action toward those in need takes precedence over technical compliance with religious regulations. Jesus reshapes our lives by becoming the new covenant, being Lord of our rest, and showing us how to relate to others with grace and mercy.
